Legendary, golden Ivalo River! For a packrafter River Ivalo is an ideal destination with it's varied terrain of gentle flow and rapids. River follows beautiful landscapes through forests and canyons. We will paddle through various level 1-2 rapids, get to feel the history left behind from the times of Gold Rush as well as increase our paddling & wilderness skills.

This trip is suitable for you if:
– You are familiar with canoeing and have a finnish MELOJA-1 qualification or a like as well as some experience from level 1-2 rapid-paddling
– You want to see and experience the legendary Ivalo River
– You want to do overnight packraft adventures, but need a guide to do so
– You want to spend some time in the wild away from all phone-connections
Know before you go
Please note this is a fairly demanding packraft adventure. We will paddle through various level 1-2 rapids, get to feel the history left behind from the times of Gold Rush as well as increase our paddling & wilderness skills. Participants need to be familiar with canoeing and have a finnish MELOJA-1 qualification or a like as well as some experience from level 1-2 rapid-paddling. If you are unsure of your skills, please get in touch with us for any questions you may have. We are able to provide the needed training before the trip to make sure your skill-set matches the requirements of the trip.
We will spend all of our time outdoors on this trip. Be it summer, make sure to prepare with some warm & fully waterproof clothing as well. Make sure to have enough clothes to keep dry and change if needed. Prepare to get wet whilst paddling. For paddling we advice wearing a drysuit (Ursuit MPS tms), wetsuit of 3-5mm or clothing designed for paddling. Also other, fully waterproof clothing is fine, for example Gore-Tex. We will carry all our equipment with us.
Depending of water level (heavy rains, flooding of river) we might need to make adjustments to dates or cancel the trip.
We are able to begin the trip straight from the car, so there will not be need to carry our gears far.
