Luosto-Torvisen Maja Snowshoeing Trail in Pyhä-Luosto National Park
Explanation
Snowshoers will be enthralled by the magical nature of the fells. The view of distant landscapes from the high fell ridges, the dwarfed old-growth pines and a welcome coffee break are the highlights of this trail.
The sheer peace, joy and enchantment of nature in the winter can be experienced on this trail. In the early winter, visitors will run across pines fantastically encrusted with rime and snow formations, one stranger than the next. When spring approaches, the bright sunshine on the high ridgeline of Ukko-Luosto will warm you, body and soul. Snowshoeing among the stunted, old-growth pines in the heart of the fells will leave no one cold. A stop at the trail turnaround point, Ski Café Torvisen Maja, will cap off an unforgettable day in the fells with delicious treats enjoyed by the cosy fireplace.
