Welcome to Ilonka!

Ilonka is open from 17th of February 2024. During spring 2024 our farm offers you Husky Walks, Woolen Sock Walks with Huskies and children’s and teenagers’ Husky sled rides. In addition, you get to enjoy the cozy atmosphere in our handicraft boutique and Kota cafe.

Ilonka is an authentic activity and experience farm where presence and connection with nature are nurtured. From young children up to grandparents – everyone is welcome. The number one attraction on the farm during winter time is Finland’s first Husky sledding activity for children.

Wellbeing through presence, authenticity and nature

Ilonka’s family farm will be opened in stages during 2024. First, the cafe, handicraft boutique and the children’s Husky sledding area was opened in February. At the end of the summer, the farm will have a small petting zoo with not only huskies but also chicken, sheep and alpacas, and the sense activating farm with seasonal chores and activities will be opened. It’s easy to leave your mobiles behind when you come to Ilonka!

At Ilonka, children and teenagers get to take the reins and drive the Husky sleds on their own or with the help of their parents. The different sized sleds and routes make the experience fun and safe. The retired Huskies enjoy the more peaceful pace. Also Husky Walks and Woolen Sock Walks are available. It’s wonderful to connect with nature and the beautiful dogs!

There are both public slots and private bookings available.

At Ilonka, children and like-minded get to take the reins otherwise, too. It’s a place where you get to sense, experience and do with your hands. Even though children come first at Ilonka, the experience is surely appreciated by adults, too!

Feel the connection – do, be, sense and experience

Come and experience the connection with our beautiful Husky dogs. Later during the year 2024 we will get alpacas, chicken and sheep. You will get to know these family members and learn about their life on the farm. And feel the presence and connection with nature!

The farm with story-based chores and sensory experiences will be opened near Ivalo and Saariselkä in August 2024. The functional tasks vary according to the eight Sami seasons and invite you to sense and feel the authenticity, do with your hands and learn about the connection with nature as well as yourself.

Visit our handicraft boutique

In our small boutique, you can find unique products hand knitted by Lilli and her grandmother Liisa. Woolen sweaters, socks, mittens and beanies – pieces of art to wear! In addition, you can find other handmade products such as candles, carpets, and tablecloths.

Savor the moments in the Kota cafe

After the outside chores, it’s lovely to go inside the Kota cafe for lunch or a snack. Sitting by the fire place warms up your body and soul. The soups, pies, cakes and other delicacies, are cooked and baked at the farm. In addition to coffee, tea, juice and hot chocolate, you can also find Finnish herbal drinks in our assortment.
