Experience the perfect introduction to cross-country skiing with our beginner-level tour, designed for small groups. This tour is not a skiing lesson; it’s an opportunity to explore and appreciate the beautiful surroundings in a fun and motivating environment.

Tailored for those new to cross-country skiing, this tour offers a gentle and engaging way to try out the sport. It’s an ideal choice for those who prefer a more relaxed and scenic approach to learning, rather than the structure of a traditional skiing school.

What do I need to bring?

For a comfortable and safe cross-country skiing experience of 1.5 hours, the focus should still be on warmth and mobility, with extra attention to your hands, head, and core. Here's an adapted guide for cross-country skiing attire:

  1. Breathable Base Layers: Start with moisture-wicking thermal underwear. Cross-country skiing is an aerobic activity, so choose a base layer that provides warmth but also breathes well to prevent overheating.
  2. Jacket and Pants:  Unlike downhill skiing, cross-country skiing generates more body heat due to its aerobic nature, so super heavy insulation isn't necessary.
  3. Insulated Gloves or Mittens: Your hands need to be warm and flexible. Choose gloves or mittens that are insulated but not too bulky.
  4. Socks: These should be warm. Also wearing two socks might be good idea on colder days.
  5. Headwear: A hat is essential. It should cover your ears and be made of a material that keeps you warm.
  6. Neck Gaiter or Face Mask: A neck gaiter is a good idea all winter and face mask is useful for colder days, protecting your face and neck from the chill while allowing for easy breathing.
  7. Sunglasses in late winter time: Depending on the weather, you might need sunglasses.

For cross-country skiing, the key is to maintain a balance between warmth and mobility, ensuring that you can move freely and comfortably while staying protected from the cold. If you are in doubt, drop us a question!
