Summit of Ukko-Luosto fell
Amazing views open out from the summit of Ukko-Luosto Fell over the Siurunaapa mire and to the south to Pyhätunturi fell chain.
Summit of Ukko-Luosto fell is worth a climb! In Luosto you will experience area´s old-growth forest and a climb to the top of Ukko-Luosto fell will reward you with magnificent sceneries. The trail goes via long and steep stairs over a scree slope. Stairs are a sight in itself. In autumn, ground vegetation coulours are pretty amazing. Top of Ukko-Luosto is at 514 metres above sea level and its western slopes are very steep and rocky. From the top of Ukko-Luosto you can return the same way or hike along the top to Ukko-Luosto Scenic Hut on the north side of the fell and return to the starting point via Tikkalaavu lean-to shelter.
Author’s recommendation
There is a viewing platform (lookout) on the western slope, just under the top of Ukko-Luosto.

We recommend wearing proper hiking boots, as the trail is rocky at times. Stairs and stones can be slippery, especially in wet weather and during the autumn frost.
The distances as marked on the signs are distances on flat ground, which means that if a route has great elevation differences, the real distance can be slightly longer.
