Let’s celebrate Kalevala Day!
The Kalevala is a 19th-century compilation of epic poetry, compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology.
Kalevala Day is celebrated in Finland on the 28th of February, in honor of the day on which the Old Kalevala’s foreword was dated by Lönnrot (February 28, 1835). Kalevala Day is an official flag-raising day in Finland, and simultaneously the Day of Finnish culture.
Join us in celebrating Kalevala Day! Kalevala based myths and mystical stories lead us to tasks and experiences on our farm premises and on the nature trail. As always, we get to explore the forest, meet the Huskies and other animals, connect with nature, each other and ourselves. The cozy Kammi is prepared for shaman drumming sessions.
The Experience Farm is open for public visits on Kalevala Day 28th of February 1 pm – 5 pm.
Our cozy Cafe & Handicraft Boutique is also open during the event – here you can eat lunch and snacks and have warm drinks by the fire place as well as do some sustainable shopping.
