We tell the story of the Sámi — past, present, and future.
The Sámi Museum Siida offers a rich and immersive experience into Sámi culture — the heritage, traditions, and modern-day life of the only recognized Indigenous people of the European Union.
Located in Inari, in the heart of the Sámi Homeland in Finland, Siida is a central meeting place and cultural destination. Siida’s award-winning main exhibition — produced by the Sámi Museum and Metsähallitus — called Enâmeh láá mii párnááh – These lands are our children was opened after extensive renovations in 2022. The exhibition delves into the Sámi concept of cultural environment, where nature and culture are deeply intertwined.
Outdoors, the open-air museum features around 50 historic buildings, open year-round. Siida also hosts cultural events, seminars, and changing exhibitions.
Visitors can enjoy the Siida Shop and Restaurant Sarrit — all under one roof in our renewed museum complex.
Siida is the European Museum of the Year 2024 and the Museum of the Year 2024 in Finland.
