This 7-8 hours tour including prep and transfers, guided whitewater packrafting trip is designed for both beginners and seasoned rafters, ensuring a fun and safe journey for everyone.

Starting with a morning meet-up at the Xwander Nordic office in Ivalo, we'll prepare our rafting gear before a 40-minute drive to Inari. Upon arrival, we'll cover the basics of packrafting before setting off on our approximately 8-kilometer paddling adventure with changing sceneries.

The Juutua River was an important waterway and fishing river for the Inari Sámi people. As you navigate the river, you'll pass through areas known for their natural beauty, including views of Otsamo Fell. The river flows through wild forested areas, with stretches of serene water interspersed with rapids.

The Juutua River offers level 1 and 2 rapids, with the picturesque Jäniskoski rapid reaching level 3. Notable rapids along the route include Jurmukoski, Ritakoski, Haapakoski, and Jäniskoski. Beginners will stick to level 1 rapids depending of conditions, while more experienced rafters can opt to tackle the more challenging sections, evaluated on the day.

Packrafting is accessible and safe, even for those new to the sport with a moderate fitness level. The lightweight rafts allow easy portage around any challenging sections, ensuring a flexible and enjoyable adventure for all skill levels. Join us for a memorable packrafting experience on the Juutua River, surrounded by the unique beauty and heritage of the Inari region in Finnish Lapland.
