During your stay, you will experience the best that Lapland has to offer in winter. Participate in a variety of adventures, from the exhilarating chase of the Northern Lights and learning arctic fishing, to relaxing moments in a Finnish sauna. Cultural highlights include a visit to the renowned Siida Museum, where you learn of the indigenous Sámi people and the vibrant history. Visiting also in a local reindeer farm, where you can learn about reindeer herding traditions.
Your holiday can be customised during the planning phase with the help of our team. We can tailor your experience to suit your wishes with added options like snowmobiling, dog sledding and additional Aurora hunting adventures.
The day-to-day itinerary is finalised upon your arrival to maximise your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
Know before you go
- Physical Requirements: Some of the tours involve being outdoors in cold weather, so participants should be prepared for low temperatures
- Clothing and Gear: Warm clothing and suitable winter gear are essential. Overalls, warm boots, and gloves are provided but it's also advisable to dress in layers
- A temperature limit of -25°C: If the forecast for the day is colder / weather conditions unsuitable, we will cancel and/or reschedule said trip. There is no additional fee in case the trip is cancelled by Xwander
What do I need to bring?
- Clothing & gear suitable for winter temperatures (We will provide overalls & boots)
- Small packpack with own drinking bottle
- Swimsuit for saunas
- Sunglasses, lip balm, headlamp
