Friendly huskies are strong runners and enjoy working in the arctic conditions. The beautiful track goes along in the snowy forest and frozen wetland.
Our safaris are offered so that two people share one sledge (1 person as driver, another sitting comfortably on reindeer fur), and half way you can change places so everyone can try mushing. Driving time is 1 hour. There will also be time for taking pictures of the beautiful nature and our lovely huskies. After sledding you will enjoy a hot juice and snack in our hut.
Service includes pick up and drop off from Saariselkä office and thermal clothes (overalls, boots). Safari is offered in Tankavaara, driving time by car approx. 25-30 minutes per way, total duration of the program is 3 hours.
Know before you go
Note that you will drive your own husky sledge and driving time is 1 hour / 12 kilometers, it requires good physical condition. Tour is not suitable for small children (under 4 years old).
Safari starts from Tankavaara gold village, note that there is no husky farm.
We ask you to inform us, if you have any food-allergies or a special diet. For security reasons, we also ask you to contact us, if you suffer from a disease, that might have an effect on your performance during the trip. (For example: asthma, diabetes or epilepsy).
What do I need to bring?
Please, wear warm personal base and mid layer clothing; we will offer overall, cloves and winter shoes. Bring your own beanie/hat.
