The Finnish government, in cooperation with the President of the Republic, has declared a state of emergency in Finland over coronavirus outbreak. The operators in Inari-Saariselkä region follow the instructions actively, which is why some services are restricted and some events are cancelled. Finland’s borders are closed, which has an effect also on flight schedules. According to the Government guidelines, some changes will take place from 1st June onwards, affecting museums and tourist information offices as well as wilderness huts. Transportation in the area
Finnair will commence flights from Helsinki to Ivalo on 2nd of August 2020. For more details please see the timetables. The connection to Rovaniemi serves in June and July.
Cancellations and schedule changes are informed by airlines. It is also advisable to check public transportation schedules with operators, as there may be changes.

Tourist information and Metsähallitus services
The services of tourist information and Metsähallitus, Parks & Wildlife Finland, are available online, by telephone and by email. The tourist information and customer services of Metsähallitus in Northern Lapland Nature Center Siida, Ivalo and Saariselkä Kiehinen will be opened 1.6.2020.
