Stand up paddle (SUP) boarding in Utsjoki, Mantojärvi lake

SUP-boarding is a relaxing way to enjoy the arctic nature and its beauty. You can stand on the board and paddle, or if you want a bit easier way to do it, then sit on your knees while paddling!

We have planned this beautiful paddling trip for you to experience Mantojärvi lake in Utsjoki in an active way. This is an easy experience, but a basic fitness level and basic swimming skill is recommended for all water activities. 

For the SUP boarding trip, meet us at our storage at Tenontie 114, or let us know if you need pick-up. Our guide can pick-you up from your accommodation max 10 km from Utsjoki. We will drop you off at the starting point by the lake and instruct the basic technique and safety rules. You can spend time paddling with the SUP boards for about 3 hours. We will pick you up and drive you back to Utsjoki village to our storage or your accommodation. 

Tour includes transfers from Utsjoki village to starting point and end point, SUP-boards and paddles, life jackets and dry sacks.

If you wish to have the guide join you for the SUP boarding, add the extra passenger "paddling guide" in your booking. Note that guided SUP boarding is two hours, the self-guided up to four hours.

Online booking is available for groups of max 3 guests, but send us email for bigger groups! If you have children younger than 14 in your group, they are welcome to join on the same board, free of cost.

Safety instructions for all SUP boarding tours and SUP board rental:

Respect the water and don´t go to stormy waters or strong flows.

Plan your trip to fit your own skills and fitness level. Heavier paddling first ans easier last.

Make sure we know where you plan to go and when you plan to be back.

Always wear life vests.

Have a phone or GPS with full battery with you, in a water proof bag.

Have equipment and clothing according to weather. Protect your-self from cold and from sun.

Always attach the safety leash on your ankle. The board can float very far from you if not attached to you.
Always start paddling on your knees. Stand up only if you feel comfortable with your balance and when you are in deep enough waters. You don´t want to fall and hit your head in rocks!
