Easy 2-3 hour wilderness hike in Utsjoki

Paistunturi and Kaldoaivi Wilderness areas in Utsjoki are the largest  wilderness areas in Finland. They are protected nature reserves, with  almost no human-built roads or structures, but here the indigenous Sàmi people still actively practice their traditional livelihoods of reindeer herding, hunting and fishing. Utsjoki village is located in a beautiful river valley, right between these two spectacular arctic wilderness areas.

We have planned day hikes for all types of guests visiting our beautiful region, and this is the easy 2 hour hike of 3-5 km. This program is suitable for small children as well, and we can tailor this tour also accessible for baby stroller and wheel chair.

This 2-hour guided nature walk includes:

– pick-up and drop-off max 10 km from Utsjoki village (or meet us directly at our storage at Tenontie 114)

– transfer to planned walking route

– guided nature hike of about 2 hours with a local guide (we plan the trail to fit your needs)

Wear protective clothes according to weather, put on comfortable walking shoes and let us guide you on an easy nature walk in Utsjoki region! We recommend to carry a backpack with a water bottle and maybe some small snacks with you. 

If you want to  experience the famous mosquitoes of Lapland in early July, we can  take you to wetland areas to find them. Otherwise we select routes where we won´t be disturbed by hungry insects 😉
