Experience authentic and unique activities based on reindeer herding and the true way of life in Lapland

Ivalo Experiences is a small, family-run company founded by a local couple, Johanna and Niilo. With deep roots in the traditions of Lapland, we aim to offer responsible and truly unique activities that reflect our authentic culture and way of life. Niilo has deep roots in reindeer herding, and he has worked as a reindeer herder all his life. The reindeer you will meet during our activities are our own and the activities are based on the everyday work of reindeer herding.

We founded our company in 2024 because we wanted to offer our guests the chance to experience Lapland from the perspective of the locals. Join us in feeding a large reindeer herd deep in the wilderness, enjoy the warmth of an open fire, taste traditional foods, and learn about local life, try traditional fishing methods, and experience the magic of the Midnight Sun in stunning landscapes. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to take part in activities that are based on real, everyday reindeer herding, and meet reindeer in their natural environment – exactly where they would be according to the annual reindeer herding cycle.

Our winter activities are available from November to April, and summer activities from May to September, depending on the activity and the reindeer herding seasons.
