The traditional XLII Gold Pan Skiing (Vaskoolihiihto) invites skiers to the magnificent landscapes of Saariselkä on Good Friday, April 3, 2026! The event is part of the Lapin Sudet club’s 100th anniversary celebrations.
The start takes place near Tunturihotelli with six mass starts.
Distances: 15 km, 30 km and 52.5 km – both freestyle and classic techniques are available.
The finish area is located in the yard of Saariselkä Chapel, and the finish closes at 4:00 PM.
All skiers compete in the same category. Those with a competitive spirit may line up in the front rows at the start.
In Vaskoolihiihto, prizes are awarded to the three fastest women and men in both techniques for the 30 km and 52.5 km distances, as well as to the six fastest girls and boys under 16 years of age in the 15 km distance.
The participation fee includes, among other things, refreshments along the course, reindeer soup at the finish, a medal, sauna access at Hotel Riekonlinna, first aid and transport services, and online results service.
