On October 30—the eve of All Saints’ Day—the Gold Museum is hosting an event celebrating Kekri, All Saints’ Day, and Halloween. For this occasion, the museum will remain open until 8:00 PM, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the exhibitions in atmospheric, dim lighting suited to the season. The evening features a program with just the right amount of spookiness for both adults and children, and a pop-up café will be on-site.
Gold history is rich with ghost stories. Many are set in Lapland, and ghosts have even been encountered at the Gold Museum itself. Gold rushes drew people into harsh conditions, and tragic fates were inevitable. People around the world have reported sightings of figures from the gold rush era who have long since passed on—whether they were prospectors, gold-field beauties, or horses.
During the evening, visitors can explore these tales of gold-rush hauntings on guided tours. At 7:00 PM, a tour for adults begins, featuring the best ghost stories from home and abroad, told by flashlight amidst authentic gold artifacts. Prior to the adult tour, at 6:00 PM, there is a Halloween tour designed for younger visitors, where they can search for gold and pumpkins among the ghosts. The pop-up café offers themed treats, hot drinks, and doughnuts at special prices.
Free admission to the museum from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. – welcome!
