The Sámi Museum Siida offers a rich and immersive journey into Sámi culture — its traditions and modern-day life. The Sámi are the only recognized Indigenous people of the European Union.
Located in Inari, in the heart of the Sámi Homeland in Finland, Siida is an important meeting place and cultural destination. The award-winning main exhibition, “Enâmeh láá mii párnááh – These lands are our children”, produced by the Sámi Museum and Metsähallitus (Parks and Wildlife Finland), was opened in 2022 after extensive renovations. The exhibition explores the Sámi concept of cultural environment, where nature and culture are deeply intertwined.
The open-air museum features around 50 historic buildings and structures and is open year-round. Siida also hosts cultural events, seminars, and temporary exhibitions.
Your visit is completed by a stop at the Siida Shop and Restaurant Sarrit — all under one roof in our renewed museum complex.
Welcome to explore our living culture in a museum where the Sámi tell their own story.
