Our Sámi family business, Ahkun Tupa, is located on the banks of the Lemmenjoki River in Njurgulahti, right next to the national park. Ahkun Tupa is the region’s first travel service company, founded by our legendary father Juhani Jomppanen, and it has been in operation since 1946.

Explore the beautiful nature of Lemmenjoki National Park by taking a trip with our NUOLI riverboats either to the Ravadas Falls or on a gold-panning excursion to our claim at Jomppasenoja. You can choose either a packed snack or a wilderness lunch for your trip. Scheduled boat transport runs daily to the Ravadas Falls and the Lemmenjoki gold fields.

We offer comfortable cabins for 2–4 people in the premises of Ahkun Tupa, as well as rustic log cabins across the river for a more wilderness-oriented experience.

The Ahkun Tupa café-restaurant serves sweet and savory snacks, soups, lunch, and authentic Lappish dishes prepared from local ingredients.

Marked hiking and skiing trails of Lemmenjoki National Park start right from Ahkun Tupa. We also arrange Northern Lights and ice-fishing trips on request. In winter, you can book Sámi cultural programs, including a visit to the reindeer in our yard.  Sámi made handicrafts are available for purchase at Ahkun Tupa. All activities are suitable for individual travelers as well as groups of various sizes.
